GENERAL CLEANER

1 year contract position – renewable subject to a performance evaluation

(Basic Salary: R66 780 per annum)

Purpose:

  • To ensure cleaning, stocking, and supplying cleaning materials to designated facilities at Chrysalis Academy.

Requirements:

  • A certificate in Cleaning Services will be advantageous;
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ relevant cleaning experience (Industrial cleaning equipment);
  • Understanding the holistic approach to youth development;
  • Non-smoker leading a healthy and sober lifestyle; and
  • Competent (verbal and written) in English and at least 1 other South African language.

Key performance areas:

  • Ensure that the Academy’s facilities are cleaned and well maintained (halls, hostels, classrooms, outdoor and tented camps);
  • Ensure that the venues and ablutions across multiple venues are cleaned and well maintained;
  • Ensure that the walls, floors & windows are cleaned and well maintained;
  • Replenish sanitation at select venues;
  • Assist with setting up an mopping up of certain venues as needed; and
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities assigned within the Academy.

ADMIN OFFICER

Basic Salary: R88 200 PA

Purpose:

To coordinate and manage administrative support and assistance to the Training & Development department of the Chrysalis Academy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate with a certificate in office administration/computer studies.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant office administration experience.
  • Database management experience (learner management system).
  • Understanding training related legislation i.e. SETA, SAQA, NQF etc.
  • Facilitation experience and skills is advantageous.
  • Competent in English and at least 1 other South African language.

  • Understand the organisation and its holistic approach to youth development.

Key performance areas:

  • Management of the Training Admin office.

TWO(2) YOUTH HUB AMBASSADOR SUPERVISORS

Both positions will be based at our offices in Tokai, Cape Town

Salary: R 168 000 per annum CTC

Purpose:

To provide supervision and administrative support to the Academy’s Youth Hub Ambassadors.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Relevant post matric qualification (Project Management, Community Development etc.).
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience supervising a team of young adults.
  • 3 – 5 years’ managing community projects.
  • 3 – 5 years’ relevant administrative experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is compulsory and non-negotiable.
  • Ability to drive to youth hub areas (Mitchells Plain, Nyanga, Samora Machel, Delft, Khayelitsha,

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Salary: R 72 000 per annum CTC

Purpose:

To provide general maintenance on the Porter Estate.

Requirements:

  • A certificate in Plumbing, Water Proofing, Painting, Glazing, Electrical and/or Carpentry will be
    advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant and appropriate maintenance experience (e.g. plumbing, water proofing,
    painting, glazing, electrical, carpentry, swimming pool etc.).
  • General experience in maintaining large buildings and grounds.
  • Ground maintenance/gardening experience will be advantageous.
  • Driver’s Licence will be advantageous.
  • Well-grounded, non-smoker with sober habits.

PROJECT MANAGER

Salary: R279 674 per annum CTC

Purpose:

To lead and manage the Outdoor Adventure Leadership Youth Programmes, which includes supporting the Western Cape Government’s Safety Plan. These programmes would be holistic focussing on both adventure leadership activities and therapeutic activities aimed at personal transformation.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree and/or extensive (10 years+) relevant outdoor and wilderness leadership experience.
  • Health and Safety/ First Aid certificate advantageous.
  • At least 5-years of relevant project management experience.
  • At least 5-years of relevant programme design and facilitation experience.
  • Experience in the youth development sector.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.

PROGRAMME OFFICER

  • Co-ordination of the Academy’s programme offerings as part of the Western Cape Safety Plan and Youth Hub Ambassador Programme.
  • Co-ordination of the Academy’s training, seminars and therapeutic offerings to clients.
  • Coordination of social entrepreneurship projects.

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 and a qualification in Project Management/Youth Development/Gender Studies or any other equivalent qualification.
  • 3 – 5 years year holistic development experience (Community, Gender and Youth Development).

  • 3 – 5 years working peace-building and violence prevention strategies.
