About the programme

3-Month Residency at Chrysalis Academy

Chrysalis Academy offers a three-month intensive residential life skills and leadership development programme. Its goal is to empower young people to become self-confident and resilient leaders in their communities. 

Every year, we facilitate two male courses and one female course, ensuring inclusivity in leadership training. 

The programme is structured into four compulsory phases, each designed to equip students with essential life skills. Two days after their successful graduation from the programme, graduates commence their one-year paid internships.

At Chrysalis Academy, we take a holistic approach to youth development. Our three-month residential programme focuses on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Young people who are motivated and want to contribute to society by positively changing their lifestyle. They should meet the following criteria:

  • 18 – 25-years
  • Grade 9 (Std. 7) mainstream schooling
  • Currently unemployed, without current education or other training
  • No criminal record
  • No drugs, including cannabis
  • Resident of the Western Cape Province

No. All applications are done online via the SAYouth.mobi platform.

Applications can only be submitted through the SAYouth.mobi platform during specified dates, which will be communicated via our social media and website.

Yes. We cannot modify the minimum requirements for young people creating profiles on the SAYouth.mobi platform. Their policy is based on the legal minimum age for entering the labour market, which classifies 17-year-olds as minors who cannot be employed.

No. Chrysalis Academy is a youth leadership and development organisation that empowers young people to take responsibility for their own personal growth.

Chrysalis Academy facilitates two men’s courses per year. Application dates are communicated via our social media and website.
