Hiring our Facilities

Chrysalis Academy is situated in the picturesque, tranquil location of Tokai Forest in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, at the foot of the Table Mountain range. This serene setting is perfect for adventure breakaways and getting in touch with your environment, or just to fill your lungs with some  fresh mountain air.

Bush Camp:
The camp was destroyed in the Tokai fires of 2015.  The Chrysalis Academy is now fundraising to reconstruct the camp.

Sports Ground:
There are two sports fields. The lower sports field boasts a climbing wall and a zip-line (for the not-so-fainthearted). The upper sports field is close to the bush camp, with the mountain as a backdrop, and is perfect for rugby, soccer, athletics etc. (own equipment must be provided). The upper field can also be utilized for events i.e. fundraising events, film shoots, teambuilding etc.

Hostels:
Each hostel has 10 dormitories which can accommodate a total of 100 people; two separate communal ablutions and a recreational hall. There are also self-catering faciltiies. View our Gallery.

Swimming Pool and Braai area:
The Academy boasts a large, enclosed, sparkling pool with braai facilities and an outside kitchen. The beautiful lawned area can be used to erect a tent and for fun and games. View our Gallery.

Halls:
The Academy has two halls that are hired out to the public for conferences and events of an educational nature. The Tea Hall seats aproximately 70-100 people, has a kitchen and toilet facilities and a balcony overlooking False Bay. Both halls open onto an amphitheatre-style quadrangle with Table Mountain’s Elephant’s Eye cave watching over the Academy. View our Gallery.

Please complete a Facilities Booking Form in the Application Forms section if you are interested in booking a venue.

Please note that Halls and Sports Grounds are not always available, please enquire about available dates to avoid disappointment.

Unfortunately we do not hire the facilities for weddings and birthday parties, due to the Academy being a facility for youth development.
