Health and wellness is a non-negotiable aspect of the 3-month residential programme at Chrysalis, as we believe in the holistic development of the human being.

A registered, professional nurse (with a dispensing license), forms part of a multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to the overall well-being of our students. Before intake, we conduct interviews and medical assessments to establish physical fitness levels, medical history, allergies and prescription medicationbeing taken.
In a very interesting statement made by The World Health Organisation, health is defined as a ‘state of complete physical, psychological and social well-being, as opposed to simply the absence of a disease or infirmity’. The 2012 World Health Report, in highlighting the impact of health research, emphasizes the promotion and protection of health as being essential to human welfare and sustained economic and social development.
Dr Sambo, The World Health Organisation’s Regional Director for Africa, called for ‘national health systems to be oriented towards the promotion and support of healthy life-styles within the primary health care approach, in order for people to make healthier choices and follow life-style patterns that foster good health’.
Chrysalis Academy fully supports and promotes these global findings and views, hence the 3-month residential programme sets the foundation for students to develop a pattern of healthy living and to take responsibility for their overall health and well-being, which they will be able to sustain throughout their adult lives.
